Just what does it take to cater for the death star? How many coffee machines are needed? Volume of coffee beans used? And most importantly what is Lord Vadar served??
With the 1,089,776 staff on the Death Star (not including the Emperor and Lord Vader). The 6 sectors are divided into 24 zones then there are 45,407 staff per sector. The sectors all operate from one type of machine, we might assume the following number of machines per sector:
Sector 1 – Table top bean to cup – 60 men per machine = 756 machines
Sector 2 – Freshpack – 25 men per machine = 1816 machines
Sector 3 – Soluble – 100 men per machine = 454 machines
Sector 4 – Floor standing coffee vending machines – 150 men per machine = 302 machines
Sector 5 – Snack vending machines – 200 men per machine = 227 machines
Sector 6 – Water coolers – 50 men per machine = 908 machines
That’s a lot of Coffee Machines!
