How to clean your Cimbali M1 Coffee Machine

Steps to Cleaning your Coffee machine:

COMPLETE WASH CLEANING CYCLE – CLEAN FREQUENCY = DAILY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

Each cleaning cycle will take 15minutes. Cleaning must be carried out at least once everyday.

YOU WILL NEED:

  1. Disposable gloves
  2. Cimbali Ecocleaner (Cimbali code #610-004-214)
  3. Cimbali Ecojetsan (Cimbali code #610-004-129)
  4. Cleaning Box and fluid container.

IMPORTANT:

Ensure cleaning box is securely positioned on coffee machine, gloves should be worn at all times when handling chemicals.

Coffee cannot be served once the cleaning cycle has started. It CANNOT be stopped, even if the machine is switched off. Cleaning should be carried out at least once everyday.

Place the cleaning box on the drip tray and make sure that the white plastic placement pipe locates in the hole/fixing slot on the machine (step 1).

Using the metal spring lugs on both sides of the cleaning box (step 2) lower the divider on the box and push backwards to fix into the locater. Ensure that the dispense head (step 3) is lowered onto the box and release the spring to raise the divider so it sits between the coffee and milk outlets.

Loosen the cap on the ECOJETSAN bottle a little and squeeze until the dosing chamber is filled to the marked line.

Unscrew the cleaning fluid container from the lid and remove the lid of the ECOJETSAN and pour the measured dose into the container (step 1).

Place the milk pipe from the fridge into the top of the container (step 2).

Open the cleaning flap on the machine and insert 1 coffee cleaning tablet into the chute, then fully close the flap.

Press and hold the ‘Full Clean’ Button until the display shows ‘Washing in Progress’

Hot water will flow from the dispense head and flow into both the drip tray and the cleaning container. DO NOT REMOVE any pieces of the cleaning system during this process

WARNING – Warning: water will be very hot!

During the process the container will fill and empty itself a few times do not add any additional fluid.

WARNING – Warning: parts will be very hot!

At the end of the process the message will disappear from the machine. There may be a small amount of water left in the cleaning container, if this is the case remove lid and pour contents down drip tray.

Remove the cleaning parts from the machine and store in a safe place; place the milk pipe back in the milk container ready for service.

DRIP TRAY – CLEAN FREQUENCY = DAILY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

Remove the drip tray (step 1), and separate the grille (step 2).

Wash tray & grille under running water.

DRY THOROUGHLY and replace.

GROUNDS DRAWER – EMPTY AND CLEAN FREQUENCY = DAILY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

Pull out the grounds drawer, empty it and wash it under running water.

Thoroughly clean the drawer housing area with a damp cloth, removing any organic residue.

COFFEE HOPPER – EMPTY AND CLEAN FREQUENCY = DAILY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

Remove the hopper lid and wash in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.

Wipe the inside of the hopper with a dry cloth to remove any coffee oils in the hopper.

BODYWORK – CLEAN FREQUENCY = DAILY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

Wipe the exterior of the machine with a sanitised paper towel.

COFFEE AND MILK FLUSHING – CLEAN FREQUENCY = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

When the coffee & milk flushing is complete the display will return to normal SWITCH OFF POWER

You will find the switch underneath the drip tray.

Remove dispense head cover screw (step 1) and pull the dispense head (step 2) towards you to remove.

Remove milk head by pulling directly towards you (step 1).

WARNING – Warning: parts will be very hot!

Remove top cap of milk head by twisting it anticlockwise pulling off lid (step 2).

Remove coffee head by pulling directly towards you (step 1), and Unclip top of coffee head (step 2).

WARNING – Warning: parts will be very hot!

Using clean water immerse all parts. In a clean suitable container and remove one by one and brush vigorously.

Replace all parts on the machine in reverse order.
