Cleaning your Flavia Barista Coffee Machine

Steps to Cleaning your Barista Coffee Machine:
DRIP TRAYS & CUP STAND = DAILY DEPENDING ON VOLUME
Step 1. Pull the drip trays towards you slightly lift out the empty drip tray. CAUTION! CONTENTS MAY BE HOT.
Step 2. Separate TOP AND BOTTOM PARTS. Clean them in warm soapy water, wipe area left by the drip tray and then Reassemble and replace carefully.
Notice – The brewer does not tell you when the drip tray is full so make sure you check it regularly.
EMPTYING THE FILTERPACK & ESPRESSO BINS = DAILY DEPENDING ON VOLUME
The filterpack and espresso bins should be emptied and cleaned on a daily basis. The brewer will request that the freshpack bin is emptied if the maximum number of allowable packs has been vended.
Remove the drip tray as above. Then Pull bin forward and once removed Empty freshpack bin and Clean in warm, soapy water. Then Replace filterpack and espresso bins.
Notice – Take care when removing the freshpack bin. The act of removing the bin reset the bin counter. ALWAYS EMPTY THE BIN IF REMOVED.
CLEANING THE WATER FILLER FUNNEL = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME
Step 1. Open the lid on top of the coffee machine and, Step 2. remove the filler funnel assembly. Once removed Clean in warm soapy water making sure to rinse thoroughly (so no soap get into the tank).
Use a clean damp cloth to wipe the outside areas that are exposed inside.
Once finished Replace the water filler strainer and close the filler cap.
Notice – Do not use strong detergents and take care not to get soapy water into the water tank as this will affect the drink taste.
CLEANING THE FILTERPACK (LEFT) DOOR = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME
To remove the freshpack door for cleaning, Step1. Grip the bottom of the freshpack door. Step 2. Use other hand to steady the brewer.
Now Pull the bottom of the freshpack door sharply towards you until it separates from the machine and carefully remove. Wash in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
Wipe sides of area where door was. To Replace door – Position the Top first. and then push bottom of door until you hear a ‘CLICK’.
CLEANING THE ESPRESSO (RIGHT) DOOR = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME
The Espresso door is not removable and can only be cleaned in position.
To open the pack door if the machine is powered on and ready to vend. Simply select “Espresso” from the coffee menu and the door will open. Note No water will be dispensed if no pack is inserted.
If the machine is ‘OFF’ or the machine is not ready to vend, the door can be opened manually by removing the espresso pack bin and pushing on the rubber pad Step 1. inside and above the espresso bin area. Push towards the back of the machine and the door will open.
Step 2. To fully open the door for cleaning, press the lever on the right side of the open door.
Wipe inside the door and around the sides of the espresso dispense area with a clean cloth using warm soapy water and wipe dry.
If the espresso pack bin has not be removed, close the espresso pack door and remove the espresso pack bin. Wipe inside the brewer around around the espresso pack bin area with a clean cloth using warm soapy water and wipe dry.
CLEANING THE CUP SENSORS = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME
The cup sensors are found next to the drip trays on the machine. Clean the cup sensors to ensure correct operation.
CLEANING THE AIR DUCT = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME
Remove the freshpack door (as above). Ensure air duct is clean and free of debris.
After cleaning, sanitise surfaces with a non-chlorine based anti-bacterial wipe or solution.
Notice – Avoid scented products, as this will affect the drinks taste.
