Cleaning your Vitale Coffee Machine

Steps to Cleaning your Vitale Coffee Machine:

DRIP TRAY = DAILY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

The drip tray is located at the front base of the machine and will need emptying and cleaning on a daily basis.

Step 1. Remove the front panel by carefully sliding it out (bottom third of the front facia).

Step 2. Once removed you can separate the grill from the front panel for cleaning and empty the tray, be aware the grout bin is housed at the back of the front panel and isn’t fixed in place.

GROUT BIN = DAILY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

The grout bin collects all the coffee grounds and should be emptied every day depending on volume.

Remove the front panel by carefully sliding it out (bottom third of the front facia) Once removed the grout is located at the back of the front panel that’s just been removed. Pull the grout bin out, then empty and clean.

NOZZLE CARRIER PLATE = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

Step 1. Disconnect the three hoses on the nozzle carrier plate, then (Step 2) pinch each side of the black tray, and slide (Step 3) the tray to the left to remove, clean and dry.

After cleaning slide the black nozzle holder back into place, it will click into place. And when the Grey mixing Bowl is back in place (if removed) re-connect the three hoses.

GREY MIXING BOWL = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

While holding the grey mixing bowl with one hand use the other hand (step 1) to push the small red handle at the bottom of the mixing bowl clockwise to unlock. Then if required lift the milk and chocolate hopper slightly and (step 2) pull the Grey mixing bowl out towards you to remove.

Split the mixing bowl into 2 pieces (step 3) to assist in cleaning. Wash clean, dry and re-assemble. It is also worth checking that there are no blockages in the pipe as this can cause problems.

BREWING PISTON = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

To remove and clean the brewing piston, pull out the metal clip (step 1) holding it in place, then hold the top of the piston (step 2) and pull up and out.

Clean with cleaning paper or a brush to eliminate any particles, which may remain on the filter.

COFFEE BREWER UNIT = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

You can also remove the Coffee Brewer Unit by turning the two white lock catches (step 1) at the top and bottom of the Brewer Unit counter clockwise.

The Coffee Brewer Unit thing just slides out (step 2), use a brush or cleaning paper to just generally clean it? yes use a brush but you can also clean it in warm water

COFFEE BREWER TABLET CLEAN = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

You must run a tablet clean regularly to prevent the coffee brewer clogging up

The types of detergent to be used are Tablets of specific detergent for super automatic coffee machines. On the market tablets can be from 2 to 3 gr each one.

Before beginning this operation it is necessary to empty the drip tray and Grout bin and replace in the machine.

Also it is necessary to have a detergent tablet ready to be able to use it.

To start the cycle

The programming button (Inside front door on the circuit board) must be pressed (step 1).

The LEDs of the push-buttons on the front of the machine then blink intermittently.

We press button 2 (On front of the machine) and cleaning process begins (step 2).

The brewer goes to a position and spills a water quantity to the coffee residue tray to make a pre-cleaning.

The brewer goes to load position.

Tablet must be inserted (step 3) and then we can press any of the service buttons.

The machine begins to do water pulses to fill the conduits with the soapy mixture. it then waits 30 seconds in order that the cleaning is effective and later it begins the phase of wash.

The water in the chamber of the brewer throws itself to the coffee residue tray and another cleaning cycle is made.

Three espresso coffees are made and cycle finishes.

For a correct cleaning it is recommended to withdraw the top piston and to clean the top filter with a paper or with a brush to withdraw possible particles that have stayed in the filter.

RINSING CYCLE = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

Again you press the program button on the inside of the door (step 1).

This time you press the first button (step 2). This runs hot water through the mixing bowl. The mixing bowl will still need to be taken out for cleaning on a weekly basis but the rinse is a quick clean that can be run every day. The water dispenses into the drip tray (or a cup if you place one underneath the nozzle.
