Steps to Cleaning your Kobalto Coffee machine:
QUICK CLEAN – RINSING THE MIXER BOWLS – EMPTY AND CLEAN FREQUENCY = DAILY DEPENDING ON VOLUME
Place a container at the cup delivery area (1); turn the key (at top middle of front door) on the coffee machine (2) to open the top front panel.
Press and hold down the mixing bowls-rinsing switch (3) then Close the door.
The machine requires the operator to enter the washing password this is normally selection no 5. Use the machine keyboard to enter the mixer-washing password; every single key has a numeric value. The Password entry code is selection number 5, press this 5 times.
The wash cycle is automatically started at the end of the password entry.
DRIP TRAY & CUP STAND – REMOVE AND CLEAN FREQUENCY = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME
The main drip tray is located at the front base of the machine and will need emptying and cleaning. Empty and clean the drip tray when the red (drip tray full) indicators lift up through the grille.
To remove the tray, take hold of the sides of the tray, lift it slightly up and pull (1). It is recommended not to wait for the red float signal, but to empty the tray at regular intervals.
Once removed you can empty the tray and remove the grill by lifting it upwards (2) for cleaning.
The cup stand can be removed easily by tilting it upwards one side (3) to free it from the supporting poles each side.
GROUT BIN – RINSING THE MIXER BOWLS – EMPTY AND CLEAN FREQUENCY = DAILY DEPENDING ON VOLUME
The grout bin collects all the coffee grounds and should be emptied every day depending on volume. Lower down the compartment cover (bottom third of the front facia).
Once lowered you will see the Blue grout bin that collects the used coffee grounds. There is a small handle available (top middle) for pulling the grout bin out, then empty and clean.
OTHER COMPONENTS (Nozzle Plate / Mixing Bowl / Coffee Bean Hopper)
Turn the key (at top middle of front door) on the coffee machine to open the top front panel. Open the panel fully to access the components.
BLACK NOZZLE CARRIER PLATE – EMPTY AND CLEAN FREQUENCY = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME
Removing Black Nozzle Carrier Plate in order to Clean the spouts, unscrew the silver knurl (1) of the spout support and remove the four brown hoses (2). The Nozzle carrier plate can now be lowered and removed, separate all spouts from the spout support for cleaning (3).
Cleaning the spouts:
Separate the spouts from the corresponding tubes. Wash all components and pay attention when mechanically removing all visible residues and films.
Rinse the spouts carefully and pay attention when reconnecting the tubes with the corresponding spouts. After completing the cleaning process reposition the spouts and the support, tighten the silver Knurl.
Once this process is completed close the door once the hot water reaches the correct temperature the Kobalto is now ready to use.
BLUE MIXING BOWLS – CLEAN FREQUENCY = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME
Start by disconnecting the Brown hose at the bottom of the mixer (1). While holding the blue mixing bowl with one hand use the other hand to push the small green handle at the bottom of the mixing bowl counter clockwise to unlock (2). Then twist the milk hopper slightly (3) and pull the blue mixing bowl out towards you (4) to remove.
You can split the mixing bowls into 3 pieces to assist in cleaning. Wash clean, dry and re-assemble. It is also worth checking that there are no blockages in the pipe as this can cause problems.
After cleaning the square end of the mixing bowl slides back into the square hole. When in place rotate the green handle to lock it in place. Reconnect the brown hose to the bottom of the mixing bowl. Repeat this process for both mixing bowls.
COFFEE BEAN HOPPER – REMOVE AND CLEAN FREQUENCY = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME
To remove and clean the coffee bean hopper Open the container lid by using the proper key, close the shutter by completely rotating the knob to the right (1) and remove the coffee container from the machine for cleaning. You may need to use de-tanning powder to fully remove the coffee stains.
CLOSING MACHINE AFTER CLEANING
Close the lid and then the front door. Lock the door closed by turning the key.
The machine will then take a few minutes to heat back up. The exact amount of time will depend on how long the door has been open for and therefore how long the heater has been off for.
