Cleaning your Krea Coffee Machine

Steps to Cleaning your Krea Coffee machine:

DRIP TRAY AND CUP STAND – EMPTY AND CLEAN FREQUENCY = DAILY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

The cup stand can be removed easily by unclipping from the metal support. Tilt it up one side then pull out to remove and clean.

The main drip tray is located at the front base of the machine and will need emptying and cleaning daily, accessed by opening the front door on the coffee machine.

Turn the key (half way up on the left hand side) on the coffee machine to open coffee machine door. Open the panel fully to access the components.

The drip tray can be removed by carefully sliding it out. Once separated empty the tray and remove the grill for cleaning. Squeezing the two plastic clips each side separates the grill. When the drip tray becomes full It will read ‘EMPTY THE TRAY’ on the machine digital display.

Once it has been replaced you must reset the machine when finished by putting all the parts back in place, closing the door and entering your password into the machine.

GROUT BIN – EMPTY AND CLEAN FREQUENCY = DAILY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

The grout bin collects all the coffee grounds and should be emptied every day depending on volume.

Open the front door and you will see the Blue grout bin that collects the used coffee grounds. There is a small handle available (top left) for pulling the grout bin out, then empty and clean.

The Krea Coffee Machine has a counter to prompt you to empty the grout bin when full. It will read ‘WASTE CONTAINER FULL’ on the machine digital display. If you do not empty the grout bin when prompted the machine will not allow you to make any more coffee based drinks.

After replacing the empty grout bin back into the machine close the door the machine will prompt/ask you if you have emptied the grout bin. You have to press the second button down on the right hand side on the front of the machine (usually the mocha/espressochoc) to reset the grout counter.

MIXING BOWLS – REMOVE AND CLEAN FREQUENCY = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

Turn the key (half way up on the left hand side) on the coffee machine to open the top front panel. Open the panel fully to access the components.

Lift the instant powder dispensing mouths by pulling them up (step 1), Detach the tube from the bottom of the mixer (step 2).
While holding one of the two mixing bowls with one hand use the other hand to push the small green handle at the bottom of the mixing bowl counter clockwise to unlock (step 3). Pull the blue mixing bowl out towards you to remove.

You can split the mixing bowl into 3 pieces to assist in cleaning. Wash clean, dry and re-assemble. It is also worth checking that there are no blockages in the pipe as this can cause problems.

After cleaning the square end of the mixing bowl slides back into the square hole. When in place rotate the green handle to lock it in place. Reconnect the blue hose to the bottom of the mixing bowl.

MIXER TRAY AND NOZZLE CARRIER PLATE – REMOVE AND CLEAN FREQUENCY = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

Disconnect the four blue hoses on the front of the nozzle carrier plate (step 1), then detach the hoses from their support midway up (step 2).

Now the hoses are clear, disconnect the hose underneath the mixer tray as well. Now unscrew the knurl from the mixer tray to release it (step 3), pull the tray towards you to remove, empty and clean.

After cleaning slide back into place, securing with the knurl. And re-connect the hoses.

COFFEE BEAN HOPPER – REMOVE AND CLEAN FREQUENCY = WEEKLY DEPENDING ON VOLUME

Lift the lid to access the coffee bean hopper. Make sure that you close the green shutter at the bottom of the bean hopper (step 1).

Once the green shutter is closed you can remove the coffee bean hopper for cleaning (step 2). You may need to use de-tanning powder to fully remove the coffee stains.

CLOSING MACHINE AFTER CLEANING

Close the lid and then the front door. Lock the door closed by turning the key.

The machine will then take a few minutes to heat back up. The exact amount of time will depend on how long the door has been open for and therefore how long the heater has been off for.

 

AUTOMATIC FLUSH CYCLE

There is an automatic flush cycle that you can run without opening the door.  You need to press and hold the hot water button for 3 seconds and then press the top left button five times.  This then rinses the mixing bowls and the coffee brewer unit…
